Reporting

What our first financial report will contain

The shape of the report is settled before the first figure exists, so nothing about it can be arranged after the fact.

A report designed once the results are known is a report designed around them. We would rather commit to the questions now, while we still have no answers to protect.

When Hutham Healthcare begins operating, its first annual statement will answer the same three questions the open ledger names on our home page—and it will answer them in the same order every year.

The three sections

  • Enterprise health: revenue, operating cost, and what the project needs to keep standing on its own.
  • Profit allocation: what was returned to the foundation, where it was directed, and the reasoning behind each decision.
  • Public outcomes: what changed for the people the work is meant to serve, stated in terms we set in advance.

What we will not do

We will not report an outcome measure chosen after we saw which one flattered us. Each measure is fixed at the start of the period it describes, and a measure we drop will be named, along with the reason we dropped it.

A number is only as trustworthy as the question it was collected to answer.

Until the first period closes, this page carries the commitments rather than the results. That gap is deliberate, and we would rather you notice it.
