Principles
Publishing before there are numbers
Most institutions start reporting once reporting flatters them. We are starting at the least flattering moment we have.
Hutham has no revenue to disclose and no allocations to defend. By the usual logic, this is the wrong time to talk about transparency at all.
We think it is the only honest time to set the terms. A promise made before you know what it will cost you is worth more than one made after.
What this page is for
These notes record the financial decisions we make and the reasoning behind them, in public, as we make them. Some will age badly. Those will stay up, with a note explaining what we got wrong.
Transparency that begins with the results is a summary. Transparency that begins with the terms is an accountability.
When the first project begins operating, this page changes character: the commitments stay, and the results appear beside them. You will be able to hold one against the other.
